An article from HorseCity.com states: "Sparkling" and "bright" are just two of the many adjectives that could be used to describe Zippos Cowgirl and Carl Yamber at the 2000 Congress. Yamber would also add the word "fortunate" to the list.
Although he was riding a proven winner, Carl was quick to credit his fellow competitors after accepting his championship in the MoorMan's Western Pleasure Open Maturity.
"I knew there were at least 5 or 6 horses in there that any one of them could win on any given day. Whoever was good that day," he said humbly.
On Oct. 20, the best in the class according to three out of four judges was Zippos Cowgirl, owned by Teri Shapiro, Melbourne Beach, Fla. The 4-year-old sorrel mare was bred by Winridge Farm in Cleburne, Texas. Her sire is Zippos Old Gold and her dam is Double L Cowgirl by Dude Cowboy. Zippos Cowgirl has been in training with Carl in Roberta, Ga., since Frederick bought the horse.

Not only did Zippos Cowgirl win the 2000 All American Quarter Horse Congress Western Pleasure Maturity, but Carl also had a winning ride in the Junior Western Pleasure with her, too, and finished reserve in the Maturity Limited behind Lotto Flash, the horse that placed second behind Zippos Cowgirl in the Maturity Open.
